About Me

Roy Frady, a British-trained American actor has appeared in some of the most prestigious theaters in the English speaking world. He was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, which also trained Albert Finney, Peter O'Toole, Anthony Hopkins, and Tom Courtenay, to name a few. Mr. Frady was privileged to study Ibsen with Johann Fillinger, Director of the National Norwegian Theater; Chekoff with John Fernald, who directed over 300 productions in London's West End; mime and movement with John Bloom of the Royal Covent Garden Ballet; acting with famed teacher/director Paul Lee; and voice with Kate Fleming of England's National Theater.

Mr. Frady has appeared in a great variety of leading roles, including Petrucchio in Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," Davis in "The Caretaker," Edmund in "King Lear," Valere in "Tartuffe," Jack Hunter in "The Rose Tattoo," Gunner in "Misalliance, "Jean in "Miss Julie," and Algernon in "The Importance of Being Ernest."

Mr. Frady originated the roles of Billy in the World Premier of "Billy the Kid," Jeff in the World Premier of "Bland Hysteria," and the lead roles in "First Church of Texaco," and "The Boxer's Garden" at the Plaza Theater. 

Mr. Frady has appeared in numerous film and television roles and is a member of Canadian, British, and American Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA and the Writers Guild of American West. 

Mr. Frady's one-man show "Prince of Preachers" is a loving tribute to the greatest pulpier who ever lived, Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Mr. Frady has spent several years researching and writing the script and brings a unique combination of talents, experience, and training to the performance.
